Jakarta, March 20, 2007, Ministry of Health - An East Java resident infected with the avian influenza virus, known as SN (Female, 20 years of age), died on Monday, 19 March, 2007 at 15.15 local time, after having been hospitalized for two weeks.

Jakarta, March 16, 2007, Ministry of Health - Specimens tested at the Ministry of Health Research and Development Center and the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology in Jakarta have confirmed that BAJ (male, 32 years of age), a Jakarta resident, was infected with the Bird Flu virus. Jakarta, March 12, 2007, Ministry of Health - A resident of East Java Province, SNA (F, 20 years of age), has tested positive for the H5N1 avian influenza virus. The infection was confirmed as a result of PCR testing conducted at the Ministry of Health Research and Development Center on March 11, 2007. Since March 10, an epidemiological investigation has been conducted by a team consisting officials from the Health Office of Mojokerto District and the Health Office of East Java Province.
