| Jakarta, September 6, 2007 - Ministry of Health - A 33-year old man known as “GS”, from Hangtuah Village, Kampar District in Riau Province, Sumatra, whom was confirmed infected with the H5N1 influenza virus according to laboratory tests conducted by the Health Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Health, died this afternoon (6/9) at 14.00 at Arifin Rahmat Hospital, Riau. Overall, Indonesia has now recorded 106 confirmed human H5N1 cases and 85 fatalities. The case fatality rate now stands at 80.2%. Up to today, Riau Province has recorded 4 bird flu positive cases with 3 fatalities.
