Indonesia's 3-Year Old Boy Is The Latest Bird Flu Victim

Jakarta, April 28, 2008 - Ministry of Health - Exposure to sick birds remains the primary source of human infection with Bird Flu. MS, a 3 year old boy from Bero Village in Manyaran sub district, Wonogiri district in Central Java had direct contact with dead chicken before he got sick.

Indonesian avian influenza committee calls for increased prevention efforts in Greater Jakarta.

Jakarta, April 24, 2008 - KOMNAS FBPI - The Indonesian committee for avian influenza and pandemic preparedness (KOMNAS FBPI) called on local government officials in the Greater Jakarta area (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Depok and Bekasi) to work together more intensively to stop the spread of avian influenza.

A Bird Flu Suspect Confirmed Bird Flu Negative

Jakarta, April 8, 2008 - Ministry of Health - Test results from the Health Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Health and Eijkman Institute confirmed that MY, a 16 year old girl from Depok Municipality, West Java Province is bird flu negative. She was treated as a bird flu suspect at Sulianti Saroso Hospital in Jakarta. MY died on April 2 2008 at 23.35 caused by other disease, not bird flu.
